It was a moment of immense pride for Spark Minda when the Convocation Ceremony of Aakarshan Greater Noida, Chennai, Pantnagar & Pune was held in the month of March 2018. A total of 853 learners from Basic Computer, Tally, Cutting – Tailoring, Beauty Culture & Spoken English trades graduated with flying colors across all five centers in India.
Aakarshan is a CSR initiative of Spark Minda which is benefitting the less privileged youth, women and school going children from poor socio-economic background since December 2013.
In the Convocation Ceremony organized at Greater Noida, 71 women of Cutting- Tailoring trade, 113 learners of Computer trade, 81 learners from Spoken English, whereas 45 learners from newly inaugurated course Beauty Culture got certified. The highlight of the ceremony was the distribution of Job letters to 149 women from Industrial Tailoring trade. Industrial Tailoring Program focuses on women empowerment through teaching them industrial based skill set which is needed in garment export houses. The training program for 45 days guarantees 100% job placement to them. This is a collaborated project with Shahi Exports. Mr. Anand Kumar Singh, District welfare Officer graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He acknowledged the work done by Spark Minda Foundation in various blocks of Gautam Buddha Nagar. Mrs. Sarika Minda, Chairperson- Spark Minda Foundation, motivated the freshly graduated learners and shared some thoughts with them on planning a bright future. Mr. M.K Pajan, Advisor, Group CSR acknowledged the involvement of local villagers for making this training program successful at Kuleshara village. He requested the villagers to disseminate the information about this training program in the nearby locality, so that more people could be benefitted.
In Pantnagar, the program was organized in the community hall near Aakarshan Pantnagar Center-2. A total of 202 successful learners of Basic Computer, Spoken English & Cutting Tailoring Training Program from Center 1 & 2 were felicitated. Mr. LM Joshi, Unit Head – MCL – Pantnagar welcomed and thanked all stakeholders of the program for their continual support. He also welcomed the learners of the new batch. Mr. R C Negi, Mr. Neeraj Sharma and other CSR team members organized the event successfully. CSR Community Team across North, South & West regions also attended this program. It was for the first time that CSR community team attended the convocation ceremony of other locations.
In Pune, the convocation was held at the premises of Bhairavnath Vidhyalay in presence of Panchayat representatives, School Committee, CSR team from MSIL, MCL, MVAST, MCL DCD, MSL – Pune. 83 successful learners of Basic Computer, Tally, Beauty Culture Training Program graduated from Aakarshan Center – Pune. The certificates were distributed by Ms. Sarika Minda along with CSR team and CSR Committee to the graduating students. The Panchayat representatives thanked Spark Minda for organizing this training program at Donde Village of Rajgurunagar.
In Chennai, the convocation was organized in the campus of Government Sr. Secondary School, Vengadu. 135 learners of Basic computers, Tally, Cutting & Tailoring and Spoken English program got certified from Aakarshan Center – Chennai. Mrs. Sarika Minda along with CSR committee graced the occasion and motivated children by giving a speech in Tamil language. School principal and Panchayat President thanked Spark Minda Foundation for doing infrastructure development at panchayat building and Govt. School premises.
Till Date, Spark Minda Foundation has benefitted 3893 learners by its flagship Program ‘Aakarshan Vocational Training’. We congratulate the aspiring children and youth on successfully completing the course and wish them luck for their future endeavours.
