Spark Ignites Young Minds

Spark Minda organized ‘Young Business Leaders Interaction’ with our GCEO Mr. Ashok Minda on Friday, 19th May, 2017 at Minda Management Services Limited, Gurgaon.

The objective behind the forum was to groom up young business leaders from varying industries through sharing of experiences for meeting challenges in establishing and running a successful family owned business with special focus on succession planning. The session was primarily a platform for sharing of experience of Mr. Ashok Minda during his journey of building Spark Minda. The session was distributed into five major phases wherein the discussion initiated with focusing on the legacy of Spark Minda (erstwhile Minda Group); major milestones of the organization; challenges and handicaps faced during implementation of growth plans; succession planning for the group followed by future expansion plans of the Group. During the discussion, the participants were also shown the famous book – ‘The Magic of Thinking Big’ which Mr. Minda considers his source of constant motivation. The participants were also taken through the Product Display Centre to acquaint them with our major Product categories.

The session was quite enlightening for all and some very important queries were raised by the participating members. Some of the most critical questions included deciding factors for selection of candidates, selection of companies for joint ventures and acquisitions, maintaining organization’s stability during lack of important resources, arranging of financial resources and handling the organization during turbulent times, selection of the right advisor for the organization, having faith in your decisions and driving ones passion throughout these years besides other queries.

The session was attended by around 25 participants including those entrepreneurs who have recently taken over their family business and those who are in the process of transition. Apart from Mr. Ashok Minda, members from Spark Minda who contributed to this half day session included Mr. N K Taneja and Mr. Lalitendu Samanta, who shared their learning and experiences during the growth of the Group.

The event was organized by Mr. Aakash Minda & Ms. Kanika Minda along with the support of Mr. Anil Batra & Ms. Neha Bahri from Group Communication Department; Mr. Sandeep Yadav, Mr. Dipak Jha, Ms. Ankita Gupta and Ms. Shalini Sharma from HR & Admin Department; Mr. Ankush Sharma from the IT Department along with Mr. Gyanesh Sharma from the GCEO Office under the able guidance of Mr. N K Taneja and Mr. Lalitendu Samanta.
