Recognizing the growth of the 2 wheel segment in the ASEAN market, Spark Minda has setup greenfield manufacturing facilities in Indonesia & Vietnam.

The idea which was conceptualized in October 2004, started with assembly of locks in Indonesia in October 2005 under the name of PT. Minda Asean Automotive. Keeping in mind the corporate philosophy of “Near to the customer” another facility was added in April 2009 in Vietnam under the name of Minda Vietnam Automotive Company Limited.

To give more focus to its product range of the entire Group Products and to provide better service to its OEM Customers the business of Indonesia & Vietnam businesses were transferred to new companies in 2013.

PT Minda Automotive Indonesia started production from January 2013 and Minda Vietnam Automotive Company Limited from April 2013.

The ASEAN venture consistently grew and acquired business from major 2 wheeler automotive OEMS in ASEAN region. Today these facilities are catering to OEMs in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Brazil, Japan, China & Columbia.

The current products manufactured are Lock kits which include the Ignition switch with or without Magnet Shutter, Fuel Tank Cap, Side Cover Lock, Seat Latch / Locks. The Immobilizer Antenna, Instrument Cluster & Speedometer are also supplied to its OEM customers on JIT basis which are manufactured in parent plants in India.

We have started production of Wiring Harness in Vietnam to cater to its valued customers in the ASEAN region.

Other Group products like Sensors & Die Casting parts will be introduced in the coming years.

The companies are backed up by a strong R&D teams in India with Design & Marketing Office in Japan. We are constantly designing & developing new products for the market. Some of the products manufactured by us are also having Patents in this region.
